A New Beginning

Well, howdy-ho there! Thanks for visiting my new blog. If you're here, I'd imagine you want to learn about stockpiling (or you're just lost and scratching your head wondering what on Earth 'stockpiling' is - hopefully, it's the latter).

What is stockpiling? Well, it's simple. Stockpiling just means building up a supply of items. Now, in the coupon world, you want to do this when items are on sale and hopefully in combination with a coupon to get the lowest  rock bottom price. For instance, deodorant is on sale for $2.50 and regularly priced at $3.50. You have a coupon for that deodorant for $1 off. You can buy the deodorant for $1.50 and buy as much as you have coupons for, creating a 'stockpile' of deodorant. Now, next time you run out of deodorant you do not have to run out to the store and pay $3.50. You just reach into your stockpile with no additional cost.

Now, when I say stockpile I do not mean what you see on certain TV shows. Yes, it is possible but it is not realistic. Do not expect mountains of free or cheap products. You shouldn't have to dedicate entire rooms to a stockpile (... well, unless you REALLY want to....). Sales do repeat every couple months, so realistically you only need to buy enough of a product to last you for a few weeks. If you go through two deodorants in two months, stockpile two to four. There is no need to over-do it. You do not need 20 sticks of deodorant. If you want to donate some, that's fine but don't clear out an entire store of all it's deodorant. It is not fair to other people who do want to buy the deodorant as well.

My advice is just to take is slow. Don't rush into it buying a ton of everything you see because you will probably find even better deals on a lot of what you bought the next week - and I can tell you, you will get buyers remorse. Even stockpiling one thing a week is a good goal. Take your time with it and have fun!

I'll be posting my top favorite tips for stockpiling next, so I hope you stick around!
